Character Art for RPG "Cazadores de Leyendas"

Final Art

Here you have some pulp characters art I did for the role playin game "Cazadores de Leyendas" by Nosolorol publishing. Since it is a re-edition of  the game I had to give a new image to the characters based on the previous drawings showed in the book.
Sketches

Finally the clients decided to add a new character for the game called Anne Sophie. They had some ideas about her: she had to be a strong woman with short hair, some kind of... maybe bodyguard, maybe assasin, maybe adventurer or pilot...

With that clues, I started to interchange photos and drawings with Manuel J. Sueiro looking for the design that fits better what they wanted. Below you have some part of that process.

Anything else to say, just thanks to Nosolorol people to trust my work.

"Her Blue Eyes" Personal Work

Final Illustration "Her Blue Eyes"
This picture started from a discard option done for the previous commission (previous post). After finishing the cover, my next work was delayed so I had some time for doing a portfolio picture. I enjoyed that cover and I thought that the girl's attitude of this choice could deserve a finished illustration.

I tried some design options, I liked almost the same both B.spaceship and C.white dragon concepts, but I had done another sci-fi personal work recently ("Lone Soldier") so I decided to do the dragon one.

Design Options
Not so much else to say, except the fact that I tried to practice some things that I had read in Color & Light by James Gurney. I wanted to create a sands/desert lighting and atmosphere with colors even though we cannot see any background landscape.

I hope you like it ;)

Cover Illustration for "Lady Montague"

This is one of my latests artworks, done during summer 2013 for the novel "Lady Montague" written by Sofía Navarro.
*Spanish edition is titled "La Señora de Montesco"
Final Cover Illustration
Sofía had a clear idea of what she wanted for the cover, the main character looking to Verona city and holding a carnival mask. From that idea I did  some perspective/poses sketches including a lot of variants worried about how she hold the mask and how if the viewer can see see her face.

From a couple of selected sketches I did two color rough schemes. After Sofía selected one of them, I started to work with that one. Finally we used a more simple mask, according to the text's age, and the viewer cannot see her face.

I spent a lot of time working in the city to get a dramatic view, as well as some details like her hair and dress. At the end, I am very happy with the result.

I hope you like it ;)

Working with Sofía Navarro has been a great pleasure, since the time we get in touch, I realized that she is a hardworker storyteller, one of this people that knows where she is going, my best wishes for her. Lady Montague will be available soon at Amazon, here you have some links to the author:
